I can't even begin to tell you how ecstatic I was when Katie contacted me looking for a family session for herself, her husband, and their two fur children. I love dogs more than I love breathing.. Kidding, of course - but my love for doggo's runs very deep. She sent me a few pictures of her oldest dog, and I was smitten - he has the sweetest smile. I was dreaming up this session every day from the day we picked her date, and I hadn't even met them yet.
Katie and her husband own a home in Owls Head with private access to Crescent Beach - directly overlooking Treasure Island. When she asked if we could have their session on their beachfront, I would have been a fool to say no - and I am no fool I assure you. I was a little scared when I checked the tide chart and it called for high tide at golden hour, but I crossed my fingers since I hadn't seen the location yet.
When I arrived, my heart sank when I saw the tide all the way up to the rocks. I waited for The Hayes to walk to location - and when they did - they led me to the actual beachfront which was PERFECT. We walked with the doggo's and laughed the rest of the time.
Maui loves kisses, and Kona is a total dog model. It was hard not to want to snuggle them every moment we were shooting, but I managed to compose myself. I'm so excited about these images, and hope that they're cherished forever.
